Senator Cynthia Lummis Accuses FDIC of Hiding Crypto’s Operation Chokepoint 2.0

Senator Cynthia Lummis has accused the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) of attempting to conceal its involvement in what the crypto community refers to as 'Operation Chokepoint 2.0.' In a letter to FDIC Chair Marty Gruenberg, Lummis highlighted whistleblower claims that the agency is destroying documents related to its digital asset activities and intimidating employees to remain silent. Lummis demanded the preservation of all relevant documents and communications since January 2022, warning that any obstruction of Senate oversight could lead to criminal referrals to the Department of Justice.
